The Cure Company & Wu-Goo Present: Medicine and Music LA

Ghostface Killah Woos Fans, Introduces Wu Goo Products at City Compassionate Caregivers

If you don’t know Ghostface Killah, you don’t know hip-hop. Considered a hip-hop legend and one of the greatest MCs of all time, Ghostface is a founding member of Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential rap groups of all time. Not only a brilliant artist, Ghostface is also a savvy cannabis entrepreneur, recently packing the house at City Compassionate Caregivers in East L.A. to promote his new Wu Goo cannabis line.

Ghostface, who has long been known for enthusiastically embracing his loyal fans, was happy to meet, greet, and sign autographs. Guests were invited to continue the party and to drink and medicate afterward at the Indie Brewing Company, where BReal and the BReal.tv crew hosted a wild performance by MC Supernatural.

Jason Lee, a Los Angeles-based illustrator and visual development artist, showcased his latest artistic endeavors, while Cali-born, Michigan-raised Tyler Hagen (now full-circle back in LA) was on hand to capture the night, snapping a stunning array of pictures throughout the memorable night.

Ghostface Killah, One of the Greatest Storytellers of Our Time

Ghostface Killah got his start in the early 1990s on Staten Island in New York City when, along with Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Masta Killa, Method Man, Raekwon, RZA, GZA, Inspectah Deck, and U-God, he founded Wu-Tang Clan. Not long after, Ghostface Killah achieved herculean success as a solo artist with his critically-acclaimed 1996 debut, Ironman.

Ghostface hasn’t stopped since, continuing his triumphant run and remarkable accomplishments with more critically-acclaimed albums like Supreme Clientele and Fishscale. Ghostface, whose name is an homage to the same-named character (spelled Ghost Face Killer) in the 1979 kung fu cult classic Mystery of Chessboxing is widely considered to be one of the greatest storytellers, not only in rap but “one of the most imaginative storytellers of our time.”

Ghostface’s praise reaches beyond the music world (e.g. MTV and Q Magazine); his emotive and enigmatic stream-of-consciousness narratives, combined with his quick wit, swiftly-paced flow, inventive non-sequiturs, and compulsive storytelling caught the attention of NPR, who characterized his storytelling as “painterly” and “never stoic.”

Pitchfork Media, owned by Condé Nast, boldly observed, "Ghostface has unparalleled storytelling instincts; he might be the best, most colorful storyteller rap has ever seen."

Wu Goo: Shit So Good, “One Hit Is Enough”

Wu Goo is a new line of cannabis products, including vape cartridges, created by Ghostface Killah and fellow Wu-Tang member, Killah Priest. Their motto is that the shit’s so good, “one hit is enough!”

Wu Goo is currently available in a variety of flavors, but definitely try Pineapple Coconut, which Ghost vouches for personally. Lest you be warned, this shit is kray kray! Ghost claims it will "fuck with your mind like Voodoo."

Of course, East Los Angeles dispensary, City Compassionate Caregivers proudly carries Wu Goo products. Browse the menu to order online!
